About artist
Olivera Gavrić Pavić, born in Belgrade in 1964. Graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade, section of painting, in 1990. Got her master‘s degree (section of painting) at the same Academy in 1992. She is member of two professional art organizations in Serbia (ULUS and ULUPUDS) Graduated at the Department of Journalism at the Faculty of Political Sciences in 1988. She writes art critics and various texts from the field of visual arts.
So far she had 17 one-man exhibitions (Belgrade, Novi Sad, Leskovac, Kragujevac, Munich, Calcutta, Zemun, Zajecar, Prijepolje) and more than 130 group exhibitions in country and abroad. Between 1998 and 2005 realized 10 mosaic-icons in sacral objects.
She works on mosaics continualy since 1988. Her mosaical opus encircles three wholes: mosaics untill year 2000 in which she explores relief form, sacral mosaics and mosaics after 2000 in which are gathered all experiences from the past. After organizing author's exhibition "Ktizma Teu" in 2001 that gathered 12 painters mosaicists, she founded the group "Ametist" together with three colleagues who are also dedicated to mosaic (Snežana Marinković, Petar Vujošević and Borislav Nježić). With that group of artists she had more than 25 exhibitions, realized several projects and professional speeches.
